A home movie shot with a jvc 30g hydrid, can any software actually make it HD?

I am only a hobbyist. I bought a JVC 30G hybrid some years ago and when I go to start putting the frames together, it is not in HD. In fact it is worse. Even if I have played around with the lighting and the hue and saturation and gamma keys, it still does it no justice. I have used Sony Vegas 9 and 10. Is there any possible way to take a non HD home movie with software and make it HD. Please don't make fun of me....lol I have googled for days. Thank you

It seems like your camera probably isn't HD..but rather SD (standard definition) the name HDD is deceptive..it means it records to a hard drive.

We have a saying in the industry "Garbage in, Garbage out" Means that you can't get more quality out of something when it didd't exist in the first place. The best you can do is upconvert your SD camera to HD resolution. There are some programs that have upconversion algorithms that do an ok job but it's usually not worth it as you won't see a tremendous difference...it certainly won't be true HD resolution.

My suggestion would be to not worry about it..SD is great if shot properly and all these LCD HDTVs these days add so much digital sharpening and brightess that most people are fooled into thinking it's HD anyway.

Focus on Content, then lighting, audio and finally you can focus on resolution and the stuff that hardly matters but people spend a fortune on.
