A few questions on CountryMan E6 and earset mics.

Hello, I have a sennheiser wireless unit and would like to get a CountryMan earset mic. I have a rode lav that I use and the sound is great, but sometimes there are situations that I think a earset might work out better. For example I have a lady that when she speaks, she uses her hands a lot and often is touching the clothing around the mic.

I am after very good quality and through my searching and reading I assume the CountryMan E6 is my best choice?

Came across 2 units for the Sennheiser, one has a 1 mm cable, and the other has 2mm cable, the one with the 2mm has omnidirectional. Not sure what the other is.
the model numbers are B&H OE6XO# CW6L2SR Mfr # E6XOW6L2SR, and B&H # COE6XDW7L1SR Mfr # E6XDW7L1SR

What color seems to be best for all around use. Tan or beige?

With your experience what are some things to look out for? Like in setup and also when the subject is wearing the earset mic?

I went on youtube and there are a few videos on how to attach to subject. Looks a little tricky. Are you able to set it up on a speaker pretty fast?
Sometimes a speaker likes to try and take off their lav before I get to them. Is the E6 fragile or tough in design if handled before I get there?

What are situations that you have found that the Earset has worked out better then a lav?

Do you think that the audience (of your DVD) accepts the look of someone being interviewed, or is it better in a conference or speaking situation?

Thanks for all your help

One thing to remember is that people's heads and ears differ in size amazingly. Not just small measurements - whacking great differences, so getting them to fit properly really depends so much on the person. On some people, they just seem to be loose and won't fit properly - so much so that sideways head shakes nearly make them fall off. On others, their head size seems to stretch the design so much that they either move away from the body, or fall off. For video, I try to use clip on lava, just because they look better. Headsets might be acceptable for some projects, but not all.

I noticed the [h=1]Countryman H6DW5LSL H6 Directional Wireless Headset Microphone for Shure/Carvin/JTS/Trantec Transmitters[/h] goes around both ears. Would this be a better setup? I did not look yet to see if it works with the Sennheiser?
A little more spendy then the E6

The H6 headset is obviously better for active users. Any of the CM mics will work with the Sennheiser G2/3 bodypack transmitter. Must be specified when ordering. Available with right/left boom as well as the color. Also available is the CM Isomax headset.
