Two quick questions that have arisen for me:
1) So I have a Sony HDR-FX1000. I shot 1080p with 24p Progressive Scan. As I understand it, the camera records HD in 1920 x 1080 resolution, but converts the image to 1440 x 1080 in order to fit on the HDV cassette. Is there any way I can capture this shot footage as the highest possible quality (i.e. in 1920 x 1080)? Or am I stuck with 1440 x 1080 res footage no matter what at this point?
2) As far as I understand, even though the footage is shot in 24p, it is converted to 60i on the tape, and in final cut is captured and edited in 29.97 timebase with an HDV 1080i60 compressor. Is this also correct? Or is there some kind of way to capture and edit specifically for 24p with HDV?
Thanks very much for any help you guys may offer!
