A few more ill-advised remakes.

I would actually like to see a remake of The Last Starfighter. I watched it again the other day and I think it can be done better today.

the day the earth stood still - this time the aliens are here to warn us about the environment. keanu reeves plays the alien.

As for remaking Robo-cop, that is just wrong. That film is great as is. And Red Dawn is an enjoyable movie and I doubt they can get someone like Swayze today.

I mean this not as politics but as current events... Russia just invaded Georgia*, so clearly they're still in the invasion business.

Maybe they're just lulling us into a false sense of security, and only the last survivor of the Wolverines, Patrick Swayze, can save us before he heroically dies from cancer.

Or something.

*Here's another way to go at it--cast Larry the Cable Guy as the Swayze character, and have him play a guy from Atlanta who doesn't know that "Georgia" is also a place in the former Soviet Union. Call it "Delta Farce 2: Red Dawn." :P
