A feature I wish Vegas had or maybe it does?

I have tons of clips on a timeline that are at all different speeds (within the clips). I sometimes copy the color correction attributes of a clip and quickly just paste on others. The pain is that it also copies the speed attributes over to the clip. I wish there was a way where like if you hold alt while pasting, the speed for that clip remains.

I know you could use tracks to cc or to use envelopes for speed but this is how the project is.

Yes, selectable attribute pasting would be nice.

You can, however, create an effects chain from a clip and then apply that chain to another clip. It's extra steps, but it gets the same job done.

Or, if it's just a single effect, all you have to do is save it as a preset for that effect.

Paste Attributes is wonderful, but yes has a lot of limitations. Hopefully Sony will consider enhancing it for future releases.

The only workaround I'm aware of is to put the 'shared' attributes (the colour correction in your case) onto the track rather than the individual events. But this takes some pre-planning, and can have the side effect of proliferating tracks (e.g. in your case you'd need a separate track just for the events which need that colour correction, and another for those which don't).
