a couple quick questions and...

an old topic probally...

as far as the anamorphic lense goes does anyone know the min/max focal lengths.?

how about for the panisonic 16x9 lense?

also the lense that comes on the 100a

i was also wondering what the disadvantages are to using squeeze mode as opposed to one of these lenses it's my understanding that the lense' will give you more of a wide angle then the inhouse lens (tele-photo?) and that they provide better detail then the squeeze mode? any truth there?

Re: a couple quick questions and...

This has been covered before. Just make a search.

As for it making a wide angle, that is not true. It does stretch the image vertically, giving a higher vertical resolution.

If you go squeeze mode, then you lose some resolution.

As for the focal lens, I don't really know. Just make a search on it, or get Barry Green's manual: have a look in the 'Latest DVX News/Articles'

Can anyone correct me on this one?

All the best

Fidel.

Re: a couple quick questions and...

Anamorphic process will yield a field of view 33% wider than original 1.33:1 frame that will manipulate the aspect to 1.78:1.
Squeeze will yield an aspect of 1.78:1, the field of view is stable at 1.33:1. This results in around 10% resolution loss relative to original letterbox. This has been mentioned quite a bit but the goal of squeezed material is to become of the same aspect ratio as the real anamorphic.
Lettorbox is a 1.33:1 frame with black outs on top and bottom.

Oh also about the focal length, i am pretty confident it stays at the preset 4.5mm to a max adapter zoom. I don't think you can zoom z99 through the adapter and get great focus.
Barry's guide should be here soon, yummy.

Re: a couple quick questions and...

The anamorphic is fully usable from Z00 through Z99, as long as you obey the focus and aperture limits.

The anamorphic gives the original height of the frame, and 33% wider horizontal field of view.

Squeeze mode gives the original width of the frame, and a 25% narrower vertical field of view.
