...trick or treating. I was walking to the childrens parade on 7th ave in brooklyn with my kids and girlfriend when I passed a garbage full of 16mm film footage. I was looking through it (I be'z a bum 
) and I came across a box with a short film on vhs in it. There were about 20 envelopes addressed to people like Richard Gere so I took one. I also found some gels and books along with letters written by the director. Anyway, my girlfriend and I were looking through this stuff thinking why the hell would someone go through all of this work and not send them out and throw this stuff out. We were thinking of sad stories that might have happened to this person that everything was being tossed. Then a guy came out with another box and said take whatever you want because the people are moving. Just then, the director herself came out with some stuff and said it was one of her shorts she was going to send out but never got around to it and now they were taking up space. My girlfriend is a writer and had read her letter to Richard Gere and said that the letter was well written and that she should still send them out. The lady (Margaret Harris)thought about it for a sec and said you know what, I will do that. So she started collecting the VHS tapes. We exchanged info and we went on our way. When I got home I viewed the short (called AMNESIA ) and it is very good. It was a dark short about a girl that had just killed her boyfriend and the editing/color correction was perfect for the theme of the movie. I hope she sends this out because i think it will get a response. When she gets in touch with me, maybe I can talk her into letting me put it up online or something.
I just thought I would share this little slice of my life with you guys.
