A cheap trick to make the inbuilt mic directional?

I was wondering, if it would be possible to make the inbuilt omnidirectional mic a one-directional one, by just, let's say, put a cup around the mic? Because I don't need high audio quality, I just don't want to hear me breath on silent footage.

By the way, I'm planning to shoot my first short movie with a bunch af school childern. I finished a rough version of the storybook today, tomorro I'm going to call the teacher that I'm ready for the cattle call, I mean, for a casting to choose the four male actors.

I wouldn't do that because then your mic will sound like it's in a cup, and unnatural.
