A Call For Common Sense

SERIOUSLY!! Are you kidding, since when does anyone have the right to tell a company what to name their products. This is absolutely ridiculous. It's Apples prerogative to decide as to whether or not they want to call their program " pro" or not. Apparently they feel that it is Pro. I would bet my house there's people using the new final cutX for paid work, and that in it's self makes it A professional program, whether you think it is or not.

With all the s*%t going on in the world, your worried about Apple calling final cut " pro". If thats not communistic, I don't know what is.

maran, I don't buy into your definition of what makes software "pro" or not since everything from notepad to vi to anything else you want to name is used daily by pro's for something. "Pro" is nothing more than a marketing term and it doesn't indicate suitability for anything. It's a name.

And yes, petitions are lame.

@Snazzy, I guess it's all how you look at it, I agree with your definition as well. It's nothing more than a name. I'm just saying, if your doing paid work with it, it's as professional as avid. It all depends on your definition, thats all.:)

My thoughts exactly. And 10 or 12 years ago, there were more than a few people who said pretty much the same thing about FCP 1.0.

My biggest complaint about FCPX is how much it makes me hate when I have to open FCP7 for projects that clients require FCP7.

Comparing FCPX to iMovie is so old. And yeah, lame. FCPX shares a few features with iMovie, but its definitely a pro app. Learn to use it first, then if you still don't like it (or can't cope with it), move on.

What's embarrassing is using change.org for such a petty, silly, ego-driven petition.
