I just checked Samys website and I found me66 shotgun for 170$ I think that is a good deal for the price. Look into market place in this forum they have a lot of used sound gear for sale.

I'd venture to guess that the $170 is NOT buying you everything you need for an operational ME66 microphone.......and.....were this thread posted in the AUDIO section, then there would of been plenty comments made regarding the ME66 NOT being very good (for its price).

A good shotgun would be an Audio Technica AT4073A (~$550.00) or a Sennheiser MKH416 (~$1100.00). Rode also has some offerings that get good reviews here.

magid1020, you should head over to the AUDIO section, where there's a STICKY thread that will tell you pretty much everything you need to know about shotgun mics...

The best advice I ever received I will pass on to you. Across the board, Audio Technica will give you more bang for your buck, or rather the most value for your dollar. I have used them all, and tested them against each other for sound quality and performance alone. Audio Technica has always won, hands down.
There is a company in the San Fernando Valley area not too far from LA, It is Equipment Emporium. They consistently have the best price. From time to time they get "B" stock from AT and other manufacturers at an incredible price, usually too good to pass up. Now the "B" stock is considered perfect except for some minor cosmetic flaw, or something very minor. I have purchased a few of these and whatever that flaw was supposed to be, I could never find anything, ever, even after examining it with a "fine tooth comb" I could not even find a single scratch. As far as I was concerned it was cosmetically flawless.
