Hi all,

I'm Sean. I have a BS in Cinema and Video Production and have been out of school for a few years now. My user name involves my near obsession with small gauge film and film cameras. I love working with 16 and Super 8mm, that is, when I can afford it :) I'm also an avid digital filmmaker, my weapon of choice being a Canon T2i with various lenses, adapters and vintage glass. I shoot comedic shorts for my youtube series, ProbablyOkay, but I'm also always working on more serious, longer short films, both video essays and dramas. I'm also kind of obsessed with vintage photo cameras, collecting them by the boxload and shooting expired film with them.

I'm super-excited to be part of this forum, and I'm planning on learning a lot from you all. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum, I grew up with 16mm in the 80's using Arri BL, SR's and Aaton cameras with mono Nagra audio recorders. My first news job was also on film but I can't remember the camera we used but it had audio stripe reversal stock in it.

Cool. I wish film was cheaper, because I'd probably;y shoot exclusively with it if it was. Up until recently I had a Bell and Howell Filmo 70 16mm camera, and I still own a nice little Canon 310XL Super 8mm camera, which I recently shot a short film with.

I still have a bolex super 8 camera and was tempted by an Aaton S16 for $1,500 recently but video is just far easier and i like the look of my P2 cameras as they look very film like!

Looks like it would breathe a ton of life back into these cameras if it ever is released. I should probably buy that Beaulieu 4008 I've been drooling all over before the price skyrockets : )
