Just a quick shout out to congratulate my good friends Stan Harrington and Matt Sconce on their awards for their screenplays at the Action On Film International Film Festival this past week in Pasadena.
Both these filmmaker/writer/directors/producers post on a variety of the forums on DVX User, but as our friend Anthony de Longis said, "it's a lot harder to put on the screen if it's not on the page!"
Stan Harrington, also a terrific actor, won the prestigious Canole Award for his screenplay "Perception" I know... it sounds funny but is certainly one of the top awards possible at the AOF. Stan wins many awards for every aspect of his filmmaking at many festival around the world.
Matt Sconce, certainly one of the most accomplished and prolific posters on these user forums, won "Best Family and Children's Feature," with the screenplay to his dream project, "Magic."
I had many other friends win awards there this year. Most I've met there as my first two features won 2 of the biggest awards possible, "Action Film Of The Year" and "Best Director."
Guess I should go ahead and say that it was really exciting to put my 3rd feature film "ALTERED" into the screenwriting competition. It's great to have the chance to participate on every level of awards, parties, and excitement, even before the movie is made, and Del Weston's AOF festival makes that happen.
"Altered" is in production now, as is Stan on "Perception." My production team is led by Imoto Harney, another DVX User and an extremely talented filmmaker.
And of course I am very happy to say that our screenplay, "ALTERED" won "BEST SCREENPLAY!"
LOTS of pics, interviews, clips, and BTS on are up already on our...
Facebook Page...! Please LIKE and say hello... and write (and make) movies!
I'll be posting a blog about the entire experience later this week, and some of the opportunities that exist at AOF as well as some of the writers and filmmakers you should try to meet... kely
