A 3D pistol for a short film I am producing?

Hey guys, I am shooting a short film this monday, and a short 5 second shot shows a pistol smoking on the floor, as if it has just been used. Instead of actually buying a prop gun or toy gun, do you think I could get someone to produce a 3D model for me to place on the floor of the static shot?

Also would anyone in this forum be willing to help out, maybe someone with knowledge on blender, or any free 3D models that are available for me to download and use

Thanks

3d model is never going to compare to actually shooting it! i cannot stress this enough. Also why depend on somebody else to make your movie look good when you can do it yourself and produce the best quality? buy an airsoft pistol, spraypaint it black all over and then texture with shiny gloss black and matte black. then shoot your angle and lay in some stock smoke footage, if you don't have that shoot your own: backlit cigarette smoke on a black background. lay that over the shot of the pistol, centered on the barrel, in whatever post program you're using. Cycle through your blend mode options and play with the transparency. the smoking gun.

Or <plug> a user here (Rody Polis) has created a set of video assets for sale for $30. Have only played around with it a bit, but seems worthwhile so far. </plug>

I bought a really cheap plastic toy gun for around £3 today, it looks real, and probably would look better than a 3D model. thanks for the adivce
