A 3 Picture Deal ?

J.R. Hudson

Spirit Animal
If you were given a contract to do 3 pictures by the Hudson Virtual Studio what would they be? They can be remakes or biography's or historical events or scifi or horror or whatever................

(I wont be back for awhile, but Ill chime in later)

I'd make three balls-out horror movies because I know it would make the studio head a happy man.

I'd remake Creature from the black lagoon.

I'd make a Nightmare on elm Street prequel, exploring Kruger's ways when he was a serial killer before he got burned.

And an original horror flick for the third.

That's what I was for Halloween this year.

Harlan Ellison's screenplay for I, Robot.

Jonathan Lethem's Gun with Occasional Music.

William Gibson's Neuromancer.

That is, of course, excluding original screenplays or stories that I might have. I figured I'd list things that people might have heard of.

EDIT: I'd also like to co-produce that WWII filck about Wake Island that we talked about a few months ago. I still think about how great of a movie that would be.

The Mote in God's Eye - by Larry Niven & Jerry Pournelle

Thunderhead - by Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child

The Blue Nowhere - Jeffery Deaver

And I'll use the same disclaimer that kerstofre used.

1. The Knock Out Artist written by Harry Crewes.
2. The Man In The High Castle by Philip K. Dick (one of his best books that somehow hasn't made it to film)
3. A modern retelling of Over The Edge.

1. Remake Raiders of the Lost Ark with Tom Selleck as Dr Jones

2. Remake Weekend at Bernie's with Ashton Kutcher, Heath Ledger, and Johnny Depp as Bernie

3. Remake Dukes of Hazzard with Vin Diesel, Denzel Washington, and Jodie Foster as Daisy

Good question John! This is tough!

Story of the Sullivan Brothers (WW2 tragedy)

Something using Call of Cthulhu characters/stories/ideas

A zombie/end of the world/everyone disappears movie - not to clump everything together, but I am.

1. My current screenplay about a corporate middle manager turned graffiti artist for which I'm now seeking financing.
2. My heist-comedy screenplay of which I've only written 50 pages.
3. My musical comedy of which I've written a few songs and a complete (but unpublished) novel.
4. (yeah, I know you said three) My tennis comedy about a washed up former pro who now works at a sushi restaurant (I need Andre Agassi for a couple scenes). I've only written 40 pages of this script.

1. Herbie the Love Bug (so much untapped potential)

2. Monty Python and the Holy Grail (I though an adaptation into English would be good)

3. Terms of Endearment (shot as a comedy, with an all gay cast)

- My next movie that I'm writing now
- Survivor (Chuck Palahniuk novel)
- The Gunslinger (Stephen King's Dark Tower I)

Make the check out to Lyons Den Productions. Thanks!

I know I did my 3 (which didn't include any of mine, nor the #1 adaptation which I'm keeping close to the vest) and I rail constantly against remakes BUT, the F. Paul Wilson book, The Keep was butchered when it was made into a movie back in 1983. It had such great potential and I still believe it could be a good movie.

The A-Team TRILOGY! (seriously)

Or maybe just one A-Team flick, a Quantum Leap feature film, and whatever number Star Trek is on at the time.
