9e is out.........

Only a month afte 9d? - must have been serious problems to justify a fix release that fast. None of them ever hit me, but i guess i'd better update just in case.

I have 9d but haven't really started using it yet. Here is the big dumb question I have how do I upgrade to 9e? The reason I ask is I have 8.0a on my HP laptop and I tried up grading it to 9.0d using my Vegas 9.0 disk that I received from Sony and it didn't upgrade my 8.0a.

Do I need to remove my 9.0d or can it just upgrade it?

Different versions of Vegas can be installed side by side on the same system (I can run 8.0c and 9.0e simultaneously), so you don't actually "upgrade" from version 8-9, but it will "update" from 9.0x to 9.0e for you if you have another version of 9 already installed.

ya, thats a pain. I make sure to keep separate project files for older versions of vegas. I wonder why they cant make them backward compatible, like adobe psd's for instance.

On 8.1 (64 bit)... any thoughts as to why I should go to 9e 64 bit?

Faster, more stable (arguable), UI is slightly slicker, new export options and presets as well as FX. if 8.1 is working alright for you, It might not be necessary to upgrade.

Yeah that is what I have read on this board and others, that If your good with 8 then there is not much need. I was on 8a but then I installed 64bit and went to 8.1. No problems on either, might just keep it hear for a while or install 9 to test, as I have heard you can install multiple versions.

9e seems to be working fine for me, not sure if the upgrade replaced my already replaced (from fixing 9.0d) aviplug dll's.

9e in my opinion is not good edition... it's look like works good but:

we had recordings from ex1Sony (recorded in SD DVCam) - and there problems starts....

in Vegas Explorer we have hughe problem to preview clips... it take lots of time to open (preview) clip in trimmer (or video window)

we downgrade soft to v.9C and playback from explorer will be smooth and fast...

i tried 32bit and 64bit edition and all versions 9e generated the same problem with prewiev EX1R DVCAM Avi files

i need to check avi files captured by sony vegas from DVX100B - maybe the problem is with DVCAM Avi type recorded by EX1R.

/regards from poland (and excuse for my english)
