I was told today by somebody that in order to record in all HD glory with the HVX, you need to either have a firewire drive attached to the camera or be using the P2 card(s). Is this true? I was under the impression these features were not necessary to record in the HVX's HD modes.

Is this true?

So, buying a HVX200 is nearly useless unless you have P2 cards to go along with it. The camera does not ship with a P2 card does it?

If you buy them, sure it does.

But I would hardly consider it's SD resolution USELESS.

I've shot several projects on the DV tape that made my DVX look rather weak.
