9 Inch Monitor Case?

What are you guys using to carry your 9" CRT monitors around? I am getting the JVC 9" (might go 10" b/c B&H have a good price) but am having a hard time swallowing the $230 price tag for a Kata ot Portabrace bag. In reality, I don't really want one that lives on the monitor, I would be happy with a hard box filled with foam. Of these, I can only find the Pelican Cube boxes and they cost just as much!

Are there any low cost boxes from hardware stores or the like that can be filled with foam and hold this monitor?

You're gonna laugh , but I have used the Columbia version of this clandestine bag, and it perfectly fits my 9" Sony:

I was actually lucky enough to snag a Calzone (Anvil type) case from Ebay that was specifically built for the JVC 9" field monitor. The monitor fits perfectly and it was only $85.
