80's video look

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make something look like a crappy video from the 80's? I'm not sure how to proceed in making something look like that I guess because I'm not sure exactly what qualities make an old 80's video look like an old 80's video, or how to make them noticeable.

My idea 80's video quality is something like this:

oversaturated colors
really obvious interlacing
the top and the bottom of the screen being slightly disorted

Problem is I'm not sure how to do any of those things listed. And, is there anything else I should add to the list that I might have overlooked?

Thanks for any advice!

It's for After Effect though, but I'll offer some guesses on how to simulate the effect using Premiere Pro 2.0

Oversatured color: the saturation control is in the Fast Color Corrector filter. Or just set your camera color gain to a higher value.

Interlacing: I believe you're talking about scanlines, and that's what the tutorial above show you how to do. I'm not sure if there's a similar plug-in in Premiere but what you can do is create a Title with sharp black lines at even interval and overlay it on top.

Top and bottom of the screen being distorted: the tutorial also shows you how to do this in AE. Problem is that Premiere doesn't have the precise masking control that's required for this effect. You can try to do a poor man's imitation by create a white color bar, crop it to the approximate shape with a Garbage Matte, and then apply several "Feather Edge" filter to give it that distorted look. Then lower the opacity.

You can also create a staticky look by reducing the opacity of another white color bar and then keyframing so that it moves up and down the screen.

Good link! Super helpful.

Somebody else I asked said that I should make the "reds bleed." That sounded spot on, but how would I do that in Premiere/After Effects?

Also, does anyone have any idea how to simulate loss of tracking?
