720p question

I recently listened to an interview with Lynn Shelton, director of Humpday, where she said that she shot the film on two HVX cams at 720p. Why? I mean, why 720p instead of 1080p?

You can overcrank and undercrank in 720p and you also get pN mode which gets you more time on the card.
