720P 24FPS DVDProHD on Powerbook G4

Does anyone have any experience with this setup and can comment on what type of performance they get. Full frame playback with how many layers. I mostly do cuts and dissolves so lots of effects are not involved in my workflow.

Also, I believe FCP does have preview out via DVI to an LCD like Vegas, but I would like to confirm that as well...Thanks for your time.
 
I'd never attempt DVCPRO-HD on a laptop. You can, I've tried it on my 17" Powerbook, and it works, just real sluggish.

Maybe someone else has had a better experience than I have.
