72 mm lense to 55mm lense adapter?

If this possible? instead of doing the whole mini35 thing, can you buy a 72mm lense adapter to a 55 or 52 lense and then adapt the other lenses and get a decent depth of field? I mean like you do with a regular still camera, just adapt the lenses.

The DOF effect isn't coming from the size of the lens so much as it is coming from the lens focusing on a ground-glass and then the DVX focusing on that.

Just putting another lens in front (assuming you could get it to work at all) wouldn't do it.

it's all about the ground glass! the better the GG, the better the image that the DVX captures
