70mm Pro Optic adapter, NEW?

http://www.vimeo.com/1878224

Winston posted this video recently. The problem is he is not yet that versatile with compressing the video to H264 so you will see some funky stuff there. He is now making the adapter dual medium format lens AND 35mm lenses. You can switch mounts if you want. The link video was shot with the 35mm version. The other videos in the page where shot Medium format.

You can also see a video showing the adapter here:

I hope it helps.

I've been kind of interested in this adapter since I tuned into this thread a while ago. Thought a medium format adapter would be a nice idea.

But, judging from this footage you just posted, John, I'm not really impressed. It could be the compression problems, but some of the things I noticed can't be easily explained by compression.

-The CA was quite evident along the rocks gleaming with reflected sunlight. Even moreso than the footage from some DIY adapters.
-The bokeh just looked "smeary", like someone had taken a greased up finger and wiped it outside of the "sweet spot" to get the DOF.
-Was the video shot in 24p? It looked interlaced, like video (and not high quality video -- but that could be compression). I think I can safely say that most people using a 35mm adapter use it for the express purpose of getting a "film-look". If that's the crowd you're trying sell this to, then 24p/f footage is a must for an adapter test.

Not to nag on where others have apparently reached a sore spot, good footage that illustrates the possibility of what potential customers are looking for is a must for convincing people that the adapter is worthwhile. I just started in using Vimeo for posting footage a few months ago and have to say that H264 is not that difficult. Use a quicktime wrapper (the only I've used so far) and it's as easy as pie with Adobe Premiere Pro.

I hope more, much better footage can be posted in the future as I think the idea of this adapter is interesting.

I did not shoot it. Winston did with the HV20. He will problably respond in the next few days. I will do some shooting when I get the new version of the adapter to use with my HVX 200 in about three weeks or so. I will post footage then.
