Shoot at 1/120 and slow it down to 40%. It should be smooth.

Yeh, your shutter is way too quick. The rule of thumb is to adjust the shutter the same as you will adjust the speed in post. If you will slow it down 50%, cut the shutter in half, from 1/60 to 1/120, and so on.
