60i slow-mo w/ 24pa footage

I'm using FCP 6 and I'm trying to slow down 60i footage to 40% to get the smoothest slow-mo possible in a 23.98 timeline with other footage that was shot 24pa. But the part that I don't get is if it's shot 60i, do I capture that footage using the regular DV NTSC 48 kHz preset or do I capture the footage using the advanced pull down preset being that it's going to be used along side other 24pa footage? If there something else I should be doing then tell me. Also, if you think I left anything out, let me know. Thanks.

You capture at DV NTSC- no pulldown. When you drop it into a 24p timeline it will require rendering- but that's because there are 20% more frames in the footage than 24p. You should do tests to see if this is the look you like.

OK, that makes sense. But when I drop the 60i footage captured DV NTSC 48kHz into the FCP 6 23.98 timeline there is no red render bar. Any who, here is an example of what my footage is doing without motion blur slowed down to 40%: http://random.jasontublewicz.com/slow mo example
If you watch when the cars get to the left side of the frame you notice the cars sort of jump forward, like frames were removed and than added. When I slow the same footage down to 50% on a 29.97 timeline it plays as it is suppose to. I have no idea why it is doing this. Thanks.

Ok than, but why do you think it is doing what it's doing? Is there a website that I just haven't found on this subject?

Yup- it looks like it's dropping frames and rendering into 24p. Are you sure you captured at 60i and not 23.98?
