60i in a 24p timeline

in order to use 60i footage in my 24p timeline, do i first have to render the 60i footage as 24p clips?

I already posted this under "technical" but the advice i was given didn't work and the topic got pushed

I was told i could just drop the 60i footage in as-is and Vegas would do the work for me. Is this correct?

Generally, that's correct. But there will be a noticeable difference between it and the 24p footage.
