60i footage to 30p and slow-mo

Hey guys,

I shot a wedding a week ago on my 7D and Canon XH-A1 and for the most part shot 720p60 on the 7D. On the A1 I shot in 1080i60. My thought was to be able to overcrank some shots in post and convert the rest to 24p footage. What is the best way to go about converting 60i footage into 30p, 24p, and then overcrank it. I'm using FCP, but also have After Effects installed. For my DSLR footage I've used MPEG Streamclip to convert to Pro-res. I know its a simple process of converting 60p to 30p but what about the interlaced footage?

Thanks in advance for your help. I'm getting stuck on the software end of thinks.

IS your goal to make slow motion out of your entire footage? With 60p you might want to use cinema tools together with FCP - conform your footage to 30p or 24p in Cinema Tools.

But 60i you can deinterlace and get 30p, and that's about it, it is not overcranked, just normal 30fps footage. 60 half-frames deinterlaced to 30 full frames. You can slow it down but software will have to digitally create missing frames.
