60i ---> 24p Slow Motion Conversion?

Hello. I tried searching for this, but the three character limit was killing me.

Anyway, I have some 60i footage that I would like to slow down to 40% and somehow make it into 24p. I messed around with JES Deinterlacer to get some 60i footage playing at 59.94fps if that matters.

What is the best way of going about this?

Thanks!

thanks captain mench. I'm trying something with compressor right now. I'm not quite sure it's right though. The link in your video no longer works for me. Do you by chance have instructions for compressor?

Thanks!

I don't...

That link was indeed old. But somewhere actually on THIS forum is the update. I did the tutorial on for this forum. Hmmm

I'll look around... and try it with compressor today too.

Here's what I have going on in my inspector in compressor on a preset I made for 60i to 60p. I'm using my HV30 if it matters.

File Extension: mov
Estimated file size: 948.71 MB
Audio Encoder
IMA 4:1, Stereo (L R), 48.000 kHz
Video Encoder
Format: QT
Width: 1280
Height: 720
Pixel aspect ratio: Default
Crop: None
Padding: None
Frame rate: 59.94
Frame Controls On:
Retiming: (Fast) Nearest Frame
Resize Filter: Nearest Pixel
Deinterlace Filter: Fast (Line Averaging)
Adaptive Details: Off
Antialias: 0
Detail Level: 0
Field Output: Progressive
Codec Type: DVCPRO HD 720p60
Multi-pass: Off, frame reorder: Off
Pixel depth: 24
Spatial quality: 50
Min. Spatial quality: 0
Temporal quality: 0
Min. temporal quality: 0
Then what I'll do is conform it in cinema tools like you did to slow it to 23.98fps.

I'll post the vid when I'm done.
