60fps to 30fps slomo

Hello,

I am shooting with the HMC150 and GH1 both shooting 720 60p. When editing in FCP 7, I use cinema tools to conform certain clips to 30p for slow motion. My questions are:

1) Is it best to conform the footage to 30 fps or 29.97?

2) I am mixing the conformed footage on the timeline with the original 60 fps footage. What should the timeline settings be? 30fps? 60fps?

I must be doing something wrong because right now I am achieving better results with Twixtor Pro than I am by conforming the footage. I was excited to get that super smooth slow mo that I hear about when shooting in 60 fps!

Conform to 29.97.

Mixing with 60fps? Then just add it to a 60fps timeline, it will just repeat every frame twice.

Twixtor did a better job? Then use Twixtor. Whatever works best.
