$60 Portable 4-Panel LED Video Light Solution

I guess a sample is already crossing the atlantic, Frank? ;o)
He didn´t say anything about colortemp, but the skintones on the compressed clip looked OK.
Except for on-camera use, everything you want a Litepanel to use for, at the price of a speeding ticket...

Actually I hoped to dig it up in Amazon Deutschland, no luck so far.
But I´m working on it. For 60 bucks you can´t go wrong.

Having them to illuminate drivers faces in a car scene, catch/eye light or stuff like that is worth the money alone.

well, amazon.com ships here too, but will probably cost us another 40$ plus customs and VAT...
Still REALLY cheap if you can use it in a (paid) project...

I think this is pretty cool.

This is more like an emergency lantern or a camping light, right? I've seen something like this over here in Asia that costs about US$15, but I NEVER thought of using it to light video!

Anyway, thanks to your post I will probably be giving these a second look! I've got a shoot on a fishing boat in a few months and this might be great for fill.

Nice find. The color temp looks like what you would get from a flo. Anyone notice the pattern of blue dots in the background at 2:15 and 2:25?
Strange how his face looks ok but the pattern in the back of the room is blue. Not that it would be an issue. Not sure I understand why there would be a variation in color temp vs. distance.

. . . Anyone notice the pattern of blue dots in the background at 2:15 and 2:25? . . .

That is lens flare. So a potential problem if they are just slightly off-camera.

This looks like a great tool to have around especially at that price, but I'm dubious of the stated 1.5 hrs runtime per panel. Can anyone confirm that?

I havent used it, but my understanding is that the 8 d batteries will last an entire weekend of camping, and the panels are bright for 1.5 hours before dimming out. Not sure how long the recharge off the base would be.

I'm going to ask the seller, because it looks pretty interesting, not only for video but for general use (campings, when the lights go off, when the murderer cuts the lights, when you are broke and you can't pay for the light...)

You can buy it from amazon but when you add the shipping it is something like 140€...
