6 or 7 3G-SDI inputs on a PC

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone knew of a way of imputing 6 or 7 SDI inputs into a PC as i have a software mixer being developed right now and using a PC woudl give me more flexability.

I have been looking at some of Blackmagics products but am i correct in saying then each card will only accept one input at a time?

What about AJA cards? does anyone have any experience with this.

I am open to all ideas and will pass on any information to the developer.

I will require it to be capable to accept 6 HD-SDI, or 3G-SDI connections and have ONE SDI output.

I think you could pull this off with a p55 motherboard coupled with something like this:

a couple of these installed:

I was looking at the nVidia cards to start off with but i can't find anyone who retails them. This is when i resorted to blackmagic, and if they cant do what i need, then I'll look into AJA cards.

Do you actually know anyone who retails the Nvidia SDI capture?

The nVidia Capture Card goes for about $3,000.00 each. You'd need two of them plus some kind of output card, so that'll range from $7,000.00 to $9,000.00.

That's an immensely expensive price. That's $600 for each sdi stream! Literally 5 times the price.

I think i may look at AJA and see what they have to offer.

That CDW link also states a lease option of about $90 a month for the Nvidia card....could be worth it if your only looking to use it for awhile for working out kinks in your setup.
