5d2 Canon tethered function

Using the 5d2 tethered to the computer in a studio situation with studio strobe lights. When using Live View to help the art director move items on the set, I have to open the lens wide in order to get a light enough image to view with the model lights of the strobes. When going back to the other window to take the photo, I have to keep changing the shutter and the aperture back to the strobe exposure...This is somewhat of a hassle. Is there any way to have a bright image without doing this? I called Canon and they suggested disabling exposure simulation mode..That didn't work. Thanks.

From my understanding..disabling exposure similation is the way to achieve this. I don't know the exact settings because I don't have my camera in front of me but its one of those options having to do with exposure simulation in the liveview settings.

I tested it out with ym camera and the only modes that change the exposure based on your settings while in live view is movie display and exposure similation. The option you want selected is stills display. Hope you get it working.

Thanks eg! I tried it both ways and with no luck. I think I just have to keep going to the live window and adjust my exposure wide open for live tethered viewing and then when I shoot, change it back to the proper exposure for the strobes, in the shooting window. Too bad. I had medium format backs that did this with no problem. Thanks for doing the testing.
