I have a 1:30minute timelapse that im going to sync up with some music. I exported the timelapse from quicktime at full resolution as im going to do digitial zoom in/outs. What do you guys do for playback? My computer can barely play .5 fps, if that. I lowered the rendering resolution which seemed to help, but is there anything else?

Try transcoding to prores first with something like mpegstreamclip (not ideal IMO) or 5Dtorgb.

i transcoded to prores and still have a horrible time syncing it up with music. stinks =/

Your sig says 8 core mac pro. Shouldnt be an issue... Working fine for everything else?

Syncing it up with WHAT music? Where did it come from? And does your Canon 5D have the latest firmware, so that it shoot 29.97fps, and not straight up 30 fps?

mac pro has never given me problems. I'm rendering at 25% right now. For a 1:30 clip, it takes 13 minutes. Full resolution takes 6hours.

I have a sunrise timelapse, so as soon as the sun peaks, the main intro to the song begins. And yes, i have the latest update of the 5D.

I was just wondering if there were any trick to speed up render times on such a large file, its 17 gigs.
