59.94 + 23.98 in the same Sequence?

How do I go about intercutting footage shot at 59.94 (not slo-mo) with 23.98 MiniDV footage from the DVX on the same FCP 5.1.2 Sequence?

Where did the 59.94 footage come from? If it's a Varicam you should conform it to 24p first.

i'm not sure. it's for a MV contest and they supply footage to contestants, it's green screened 16:9 and 59.94. It must be HD or another 422 format/codec. that's all we know.

question though. is it imperative that i conform the 59.94 to 23.98 to match the rest of the footage, or could i let fcp do what it needs to for allowing two frame rates to be wed in holy matrimony?

Do an experiment- the 59 on a 24p timeline is likely to require rendering and have speed issues.
