50p on a 25p vegas timeline doesn't slow mo itself

I've learnt a lot today, that i've been doing it wrong in vegas. I used to slow mo only by clicking the clip and selecting 0.25 sample. You're suppose to put the 50p clip onto a 25p timeline, not a 50p onto a 50p timeline and select 0.25.

So i've learnt this, i put the 50p on a 25p timeline and select, disable resample on the clip so that it doesn't lose the frames. I don't see any slow motion on that when i click play. I do then right click on the clip and slow it to 0.50 which i guess will be half speed even though my mind is saying that simply putting the 50p clip on a 25p should slow mo it.

No, Vegas doesn't automatically slow it down -- I don't think any NLE would do that. It takes whatever clip you put on the timeline and plays it back in real time.

You don't want to undersample anything. You want to change the Playback Rate. Disabling resample is the correct thing to do, though.

Thanks for your reply :) Yes, i couldn't believe how long it had been, normally i just do slow mo as quick youtube ads as a small picture in picture with a full raw clip available so i didn't really notice except during rendering when it was blurring every 3 other frames (i had a 50fps into 0.25 without disabling resample and having it on a 50p ruler.
