50min project renders 10-15 hours. How to make it faster is quality isn't priority?

Hello guys.

I've jumped to GH2 from SD cameras and was very disapointed about the fact
that rendering time of my new videos took me soooo long.

I am more of a videocaster, then a filmaker. So I often have to upload (internet only)
my videos once a week.

It took me 10 to 15 hours, depending on effects (no noise filters, only editing, color correction
and Magic Bullet Mojo sometimes) for a 50-60 min video.

So I don't need 4000000 mb/s quality of Vitaliy's hack. I don't even need HD that much.

All I need is a handy camera in a small form-factor that can help me to produce high-q
INTERNET 576x416 videos, (or 16:9 eqivalent) not 3d-5000x39994240 Super-pro res Plasma 3dMAX screen that takes a life to pre-render.

Seriosly guys, any ideas?

I have Final Cut Pro 6 and can borrow new Premiere CS5 (familiar and had experience with both)

Maybe the right way will be to downconvert original RAW footage to SD before any editing?...

What software is best to use for that?

What is the final output codec required. That can make a huge difference. Going to h.264 can be slow on all but the fastest machines.

I'm still on a powermac G5 using final cut 6, and can manage an hd workflow using AIC rather than prores. I'm mainly hdv, so I go directly to that. I've tested GH2 footage using clipwrap to AIC, and while slower than real time is not bad for prepairing a batch for editing, set-up and go away for something else. From AIC is is not too bad doing a downconversion to Mpg2 for dvd, or even dv format. But any form of h.264, especially resizing takes forever.

I'm sure you know that compressor always takes a lot longer when running on top of fcp. Its best to output a master file in your editing codec, close final cut and then go through compressor or even something like mpeg streamclip which is often faster.
