503 head on Davis & Sanford?

Re: 503 head on Davis & Sanford?

The ball head, or whatever it is called ( sorry) does screw off.

You can search "provista" "pro vista" also.

I just took mine out to look at it again before I wrote. This is a great tripod for the price. I upgraded from this to another tripod, almost 3 times the price, but I really don't see that much of a diffference in the results. It is smooth horizontally and vertically. A decent weight, spreaders, sturdy. good plate and catch. mine came with a nice bag, too. ( the major reason for the new tripod was that I wanted something a tad faster, and a little more idiot proof and to be interchangeable with other 503 compatible plates)

You should talk to Rush (EVS) about the 503 head thing, I can't get to my 503 head right now to test it myself. I believe if you check the dimensions on line, you will know if you can plop the 503 in or not.

Re: 503 head on Davis & Sanford?

How does this tripod DAVIS & SANFORD PROVISTA 7518 compare to the Manfroto 3221WN one? The price for the Provista 7518 is really good.

Re: 503 head on Davis & Sanford?

Well the Provista is more like the 3046 than the 3221WN. It is larger and sturdier than the 3221, but also not as mobile or quick to setup. Those are the characteristics of the 3046.

In regards to the earlier post, I was not able to test the 503 on the provista, because we were totally out of stock. Next shipment of 15 comes in 1 week, and I will do the test. According to our site though, it has a 3/8" stud, which is what the 501 and 503 require.

We do have the Air model in stock which is the pneumatic version, but I want to test the regular 7518 with the 503.
