503 Fluid Head problem, can you help me?

Hello I really dont know who to ask, I have looked all the over the net with no luck. I have a manfrotto 503 tripod. Recently when I lock the tripod up for just vertical shots, there seems to be about 5mm free play left and right, its making certain shots impossible now. Is it just something i can tighten internally to solve the problem? :dankk2:
 
Had a similar problem with a Manfrotto. Sorry, I don't know of a solution. I bought a DV6sb. Highly recommend it (worth saving for).

If I understand you correctly, It sounds like, since you are stating that you have 5mm play left & right, ensure that the base plate screws are tight so the head does not move. if thats the case.

Sorted thanks guys, internal screws uneath needed tightning and Manfortto said i need a new head unit the complete w........
