501HDV Fluid Head with Libec?

Sorry for very basic question!

Is it really possible to used Tripod Legs of one company and head of another?

For example:
Can I use Manfrotto 501HDV Fluid Head with Libec Legs which have 75mm Ball bowl?
I just don't know anything about this...
So please tell me what should I look when assembling a tripod? rogar-Shock(DBG):

Yes. When you get to the prosumer and professional level of camera support the heads are compatible with other sticks, so long as the bowl or connection type matches.

I use the 503HDV with a cheap set of Libec L90 or something. It works just fine but the legs suck in my opinion.

So to answer the question... yes it's possible to mix and match tripod head and sticks... but be careful, that does mean it's not a PoS.

You would need a 75mm ball adapter as the 501HDV most likely won't come with one.
