Thanks for the link. There are a few that I have suprisingly not seen yet.

Agghh Super...

You're just trying to be cool.  :cheesy:

Usual Suspects? Overrated.

Memento? Overrated.

Resevoir Dogs? Come on man.

I am cool, John.

You know that.

I don't have a problem with the films per say.

It's more about the definition of the word INDEPENDENT.

There are a few more on the list that could right along up there, but these are the top three examples I can think of.

The Usual Suspects is a GREAT film, but I hardly consider it an Indie Film.

How are the qualifying an Indie Film anyways?

I hate this subjective crap. A studio only invests $12M and then it's indie. Bullshit!

Where is Evil Dead? Where is Evil Dead? (Oh yeah, #23).

Well fine then, where is Evil Dead 2, huh?

I hardly consider a lot of these indies, while I can say that I have seen most of them. Momento was good the first time I saw it, decent the second time, and blah by the third, but Resevoir Dogs? Great film because of the acting.

Personally, I hate these stupid lists, but Hudson, I think you're ripping a couple of great films.

Their advertisers would like you to chime in:

"If you think your favorite indie been overlooked or you're mortified that Cube didn't appear higher up the list then feel free to weigh in and give us your lists on the forum here."

And this is they're definition of indie:

"Bearing in mind that to encompass all those that are independently financed would mean The Phantom Menace is an independent film, we've qualified all entries by ensuring they were made with what we consider to be an independent spirit. The final order then takes into account the quality of the film, the circumstances behind its production, the achievement of the filmmakers despite monetary and logistical constraints and its influence on subsequent projects."

THIS IS ALL EGO BAIT AND I'M PISSED BECAUSE I WANT TO GO A COUPLE OF ROUNDS WITH YOU ALL BUT JUST DON'T HAVE THE ENERGY! ;-)

..So, I won't even begin to tell you all how wrong you are about anything you say about any movie I happen to like.. [I like that way people try to say "I won't begin to tell you.." but say it anyway, such wankers!]

I'll explain it all in my upcoming documentary:

"Psycho Babble: Why people try to convince other people of what is good and bad in art [film, music, food, women, sports, hair products, cameras, coffee, beer, scotch, and last but not least Bulletin Boards, and damn you if you don't think this is the greatest!]"

Memento works on the level of M. Nights films. After a few views, their useless.

I genuinely hate The Usual Suspects. I don't know why. I consider it the the #2 most overrated film of all time, right behind Sh!t Club. I usually get pounced on for these statements, but to each his own.

I'll be honest here. I used to love Rez Dogs, and I still kinda do, but I just get so tired of these up and comers suck'in at this guys teets. He's just not the be all, end all God of cinema that so many make him out to be. I suppose it is a bit unfare, but that is life.

I have no idea how in the heck we should categorize what is Indie and what is IndieWood. For me, the following are Indie films. Check out their budgets.

El Mariachi - $7,000
PI - $60,000
Slackers - $23,000
Clerks - $27,000
The Blaire Witch Project - $35,000
Eraserhead - $100,000
Bad Taste - $150,000
Stranger Than Paradise - $90,000
Primer - $7,000

Lets take a look at some of these Budgets from so called "Indies":

The Usual Suspects - 6 Million Dollars
Sideways - 16 Million Dollars
The Terminator - 6.5 Million Dollars
Lost in Translation - 4 Million Dollars
Passion of the Christ - 30 Million Dollars
Being John Malkovich - 16 Million Dollars
Grosse Point Blank - 15 Million Dollars

Are you &%^$%% kidding me?

I'm not surprised anyways.

I wrote a lengthy response to their "50 Greatest Director's" a while back.

I thought Usual Suspects was pretty mediocre... not terrible, but pretty lame and the "twist" ending was as obvious as a lighthouse... well I guessed Spacey was the real mastermind within about 15 seconds. I think I hold a bit of a grudge about most films that portray disabled people. The performances always seem oscar grabbing and unrealistic (didn't care for Hoffman in Rain Man much either).
