..yeah.. i just i hate shooting in the dark as to what someone is actually looking for. if you aim at nothing youll always hit it, and it becomes more a contest of luck then one of skill. if all participants had a common goal then it would be more of a contest rather than a question of who gets lucky enough to acually make somthing that they happen to like the idea of.

Well, somewhere in all that fine print, I read that the film entries could not have any commercial tie-ins, and the way it was worded led me to believe that it included the Sponsor, which is Cadlillac. I have a fantastic idea that I got down to five seconds blocked out, but it was totally all about the car. Now, even if I was wrong about not being able to include a commercial tie-in for Cadillac, its too late for me to do it. I would need to get permission from a local dealer to let me film inside the showroom and I dont have the foggiest idea who I would get to be in it. I am kinda low on friends. :-/

Sounds like fun to shoot a 5 sec short.
But it will take me 4 days to shoot 5 secs of edit footage. :'(

..ok so after checking out the site and all that (which is waay too ...buffer..load.. buffer..load ..load.. and buffere some more dependent by the way...) ive come to the conclusion that your supposed to simply make "the coolest film". ok. easy. ill just make somthing that IMHO is cool. but again it all comes down to what the judges idea of "cool" is hardly a "contest of skill" IMHO. but anyway im going to try and scrape some actors up to do something tonight.. even though entries are probably already capped.. who knows/cares.. i think it will be fun to do.

Im guessing that the winner thats going to be used in a cadiallac commercial is going to be shown playing on a TV or movie screen and the people in the commercial are watching it for 5 secs in the commercial or something like that. so its not supposed to have anything to do with cadillac or any other product. its prbably suuposed to seem like some random clip from a show or film. the way the examples were on the site some of them were pretty incomplete ideas that seemed like they were a 5 sec section of somthing bigger, and some seem like it was a biginning and end to a concept all in 5 secs. i dont think it really matters.. you just have to make it the "coolest".

Just submitted mine about 15 min ago and it was succesfully accepted so it would appear they have not hit the 3000 film limit yet.

Yeah, I got mine in on Sun night, and my buddy got his in last night. Now all there is to is wait... :-/

put mine in last night at about 7:30. ..id just do it asap. i havethe feeling its got to be getting pretty close. if you have a high speed internet connection you should go and do all of the signup until the part where you upload your film.. and let it sit there till you can upload it. theres a chance it might just hold your spot.. who knows? probably not, but its worth a shot if its going to take you a while.

Well my entry's in their hot little hands. Didn't think it would accept it this late... who knows if the site would actually say if the quota was met or not though.
