5.1 panning

Hi,
Im looking into the vegas 5.1 panner. How effective is it? is worth buying vegas (regarding i have not editing software and would also use it as editing software)
for its 5.1 panner? I need dolby 5.1 sound mixing for my next few projects and i've been looking for a good (and cheap) mixing software, And and the fellow forumist have told me that sony vegas has a 5.1 surrond panner so im looking into it.

Download the demo at the Sony Mediasoftware site and try it yourself. It works more than fine for me.
 
Works great. Very easy and intuitive.

Note: you need the Dolby Digital Encoder in order to export the necessary AC-3 files. This is included with DVD Architect, so if you buy, buy Vegas + DVD and not Vegas by itself.
