Hello,
I've searched in multiple forums and have not been able to find a definitive answer on this one.
When I capture clips from a Mini DV tape that was shot in either 24P or regular 29.97 DV, I get a warning message that says: "Warning: You are about to capture non drop-frame media to a drop-frame clip... etc."
The only way I've been able to get the message to go away is if I set the capture settings to NDF in the capture settings. This makes sense for the material that was recorded as 24P, since 24P is NDF but it doesn't make sense for the material recorded as regular 480 60i DF.
1.) Should I capture 24P footage as NDF? I've never done this in the past and never received this message in previous versions of FCP.
2.) Why is FCP 5.1.2 giving me the warning for clips from 480 60i DF material?
A technical explanation for what is going on here would be very much appreciated.
