4K resolution or 4:4:4, what's more important?

If you had to choose between a video shot/edited at 4k resolution and 4:2:2 sample rate or 2K resolution and 4:4:4 sample rate, what would you choose?

What's more important to have/use at this point, higher resolution or better sample rate?

What is the better/easier/higher quality workflow?

Thanks,

For me, there is no doubt - 2K 4:4:4. I've had enough of crappy color sampling, 4:4:4 really seems to rock. Resolution isn't all that important to me.

Penalty point accessed on Justin for choosing 2K and 4K. My question was based on sticking with one or the other all the way through the production process.

Well what exactly are you doing? I'm with Mini in that color sampling is far more important for the type of work I do. But that may not be the right answer for everyone.

Would you buy a 4K 4:2:2 camera or a 2K 4:4:4 camera? Same question for an edit system. Just trying to see which feature is more important to people, resolution or sample rate.

Most definitely a 2K 4:4:4 camera for me

I feel the same way. 4k will be the digital format in the near future, but the workflow for a 4k 4:4:4 camera isn't all there yet (hence it being 4:2:2). so get the better color sampling rate and work from there. 2k is a damn good resolution still.

Working in 4K blows :) I *hate* the current issues with fullrate playback and the lack of wysiwyg display is a nightmare.

If we're capturing digital, give me full color sampling anyday... the F900 was noisy as
all get out in the blue channel :)
