4K in 1080p & export

I have a lot of footage which is a mix of 1080p and 4K and 4.5K footage.
I will be exporting it to 1080p.

How do I keep the 4K footage in the 1080p timeline?
The way I've been doing it is by inserting it and then right-click then select 'Scale to Frame Size'.

But, I'm not sure if that keeps all the resolution of the 4K image. Does it, or do I have to do it differently?

Now, to export it in 1080p in the highest quality possible, how do I do that?

Is this correct:
Export > Media
Format > H.264
Preset > HD 1080p 23.976
Quality > 1920x1080
Aspect > Square Pixels (1.0)
Level > 5.1 (There is a selection from 1.0 to 5.1)
(Check Off) Render at Maximum Depth - 24bit
Bitrate Encoding > VBR, 2 Pass (There is CBR, CBR 1 pass & 2 pass)
Target Bitrate > Max to 50
Maximum bitrate > Max to 50
(Check Off) Use Maximum Quality

The footage I have is a 2.35:1 crop. But in a 1920x1080p (16:9) video. I want to keep the 16:9 with the letterbox to 2.35:1

I tried the Format > H.264 Blu Ray, but I am unable to watch blu ray on anything. It keeps saying its an unsupported file. I don't understand. So, I tried H.264 instead

PPRO will handle the mxed media in the timeline providing you do what you did re the scaling.

Export: You dont want to use a "Preset > NTSC DV 24p" for HD.

Did you customise it to get those other settings?

Just use H264 1080p Youtube setting if this is only for "vbiewing".

Otherwise...what purpose are you exporting the mixed media timeline for?

So, is what I did fine then?

Oh. Sorry, I must have been looking at a different format when I wrote this it probably wasn't selected at H.264. I edited the top section a bit.
*There is also a YouTube & Video HD 1080p preset. But im not sure if that would compress it more.

-I want a 1080p full quality copy for myself
-I have to burn this onto a Blu Ray & DVD for others in maximum quality
-It will also be going up on YouTube/Vimeo

You are a bit stuck if you want to keep a Master of each of the different source footages at full rez unless you export them each on their own timelines. ie Match the Source with the Sequence settings.

The disparity in size from HD to 4.5 k is massive. eg a postage stamp in a mural.

Downscaling 4.5 and 4k to an HD (1080) timeline as you are doing is obviously not maintaing "original" rez and quality but it is the only way if you want all footage in the same timeline ( sequence).

You do not want to do that in reverse. eg up scale 1080 to 4.5k.

Why not just dubb the source footage and keep a copy on a drive?

Burning to a Blu ray and especially a DVD does not and can not maintain original quality. It will be compressed in varying degrees. eg DVD is SD.

No.... This is a cut product that I need to export onto a DVD/Blu Ray, and getting a copy for myself.
It was shot on different cameras.

I want to preserve the best quality I possibly can. I just dont know if im doing it right
