4K footage roundtrip problem from FCPX to Resolve

Hi everyone,

I'm beating my head against the wall trying to import .fcpxml into DaVinci Resolve. I know it's been trouble for others in the past due to the amount of posts I'm finding online during my problem-solving research.

I'm testing new 4K footage from a Sony A7RII that I just purchased. It's been ingested into FCPX properly, and can be cut. I export the footage per tutorials to an .xml file (the native .fcpxml) and place it on my desktop for easy reference.

When I ingest into Resolve, I import the .xml. I get the dreaded usual message about not finding the files, which is really irritating. I've pointed Resolve to both the original files AND the files as ingested into the FCPX project (in it's file structure). Resolve can only manage to import the audio, and can't "link" to the video...so I get a bunch of red "media unlinked" boxes and audio in the project bin.

I'm driving myself crazy. I've tried in Resolve 12.5, and recently downloaded 12.5.1 hoping it would've solved the problem...no joy.

Can anyone suggest a fix, so I can sleep at night?

Thanks, David.

Or when you load or import the XML into Resolve - just make sure the box " "automatically import source clips into media pool" is checked and then Resolve will do it for you
