Why do we continue to go through  this.. Do a search .. the answer is within[/quote]

fred, i did a search and they are part of the bbbonline.  checked resellerratings and they get high remarks.  i'm looking to see if anyone has first hand experience w/ them.  not your typical scumbag brooklyn store...or are they?

Re: 47thstreetphoto

Sorry Boo .. i didnt see your tenure her.. I appologize and didnt mean to come off as an asshole.. ..
Most folks here as you know.. Do business with BH or EVS.. Theres a reason for this..  i once purchased a sony pdx10 from I buy Digital.. which is a front for these toher stores.. many of them are run by 2 or 3 cabals.. They saltmine at Reseller.. or so the term i have heard.. wherein people who work for the company post good things to counter the bad...

the situation i was in.. as you would be to is this.. Ok you order camera.. they tell you its in stock.. then they keep.. in my case .. your 2k.. Ok so im a merchant in NY i have your 2k and i tell you.. Oh..im sorrywere out of stock on that item.. however.. we will have it in stock on friday... and so on and so on.. until 4 weeks has past.. in the mean time you will not post bad things in fear of them keeping your 2k.. It wasnt worth the 4 or 5 weeks of them having my money.. waiting on hold for hours.. doing a recharge on the CC.. Hell i should have just went with BH who had  it on my doorstep in 3 days with no BS.. Try the NY  BBB not the online one.. I think their website is on the internet and searchable.. hope this helps..

Also find out if they are a authorized Panasonic "PRO" dealer.. im sure if the price seems to good to be true it is greymarket or doesnt exist.. period...
Hope that helps

Re: 47thstreetphoto

hey boo,
Go to steves digicams..  they  have all the latest reviews there.. i just bought the sony W1 camera. It is a 5 megapixel.. best thing is.. it has a 2.5" screen.. i never use the viewfinder with that screen.. It kicks ass.. Its small my big hands took some getting used to it..

It uses rechargeable AA batteries.. nothing propriatary.. the batteries last all weekend too.. reviewing pics, taking pics, taking video.. yes it does some descent quality video too.. It is by my deduction the best camera out there do to the AA batteries that last all weekend of heavy use..

i bought the rayovac 15 minute charger.. It is awesome.. YES it really will charge AA's in 15 inutes.. They last all weekend of heavy use in this camera

i had to buy 512 memory stick pro though.. Its a 5 megpixel camera and i was able to save up to 196 pics on a 512.. Awesome.. thing is.. You can review each pic  and review and delete the ones you dont want.. 512 is more than you need unless your going to shoot some video.. 6 minutes of 640x480..

i just cant say enough about this camera.. its $380 from BH photo. unsure if thats in your price range but if you can swing it.. you wouldnt have any buyers remorse :)

Re: 47thstreetphoto

Something i forgot to mention Boo is that reseller ratings .com gave I buy digital higher marks than BH photo.. lol.. thats funny.. how could this be??.. Of course i felt comfortable going to them.. After that .. but then realized my fears and doubts were reality..

Re: 47thstreetphoto

The little 4mp Canon A-80 I have is like $300, and it uses AA and CF cards too.  It has a horribly small LCD but the cool thing is that flips in any direction for low and high shots.  Pictures are outstanding for such a cheap camera...  Also the flesh tones look very much like film pictures.

We don't sell it. It looks like a really cool camera though. One of the guys from Cinetactics was here a few days ago to shoot some of his new mattebox accessories on our showroom DVX, and he had one. I love that great LCD! My goodness, it was like watching TV... But for me, it's no good: I need it to flip and rotate. I take so many chest-height and high overhead shots. I wanted to get the Sony Pro camera with the flip monitor, but couldn't afford it, so I got the A80 instead. :D
