44k vs 48k

So I've recorded all of my audio as 16 bit (48K).
When I record it back onto the DVX (in VCR mode) from my FCP timeline, it is displayed on the DVX as 44k.
When I go into my DVX menu for VCR functions, I can set it for 32K or 48K. Yet it still shows up as 44k.
Any guidance is much appreciated.
P.S. I'm shooting PAL 25p.

Thanks.
No, I double checked the entire work flow. It was recorded on the DVX at 48k, and imported into FCP at 48k. But when it goes back out to the DVX from FCP, it indicates 44K.
Weird?

How does it sound?

Are you recording back to the DVX through firewire?

Codec for playing to DVX via firewire is DV.

I'm pretty sure DV doesn't have a spec for 44.1K.

So, if it sounds OK... er... a typo in DVX firmware? Does this happen with ALL your footage (audio), or just some?

Thank you, wabbit and ullanta, for your responses.
Yeah, it's all through firewire.
It happens to all of the audio - and sounds fine. It just got me wonderin' since I'd never seen 44k in the dv world.
I actually believe it may be a typo as well (glad to hear you suggest it - I thought I was crazy for thinking it).

My fault. It turns out after experimenting, I found that the DVX output defaults to 44K when the camera is not connected; and it does not give me the option to change it to any other sampling rate. When the camera IS connected, the output still defaults to 44K, but it then (and only then) gives me the option of changing my output to 48K. Live and learn.
