4 x 4 polarizers

does anyone know the difference between a linear polarizer (4 x 4) and the circular true polarizer filters (also 4X4). I'm trying to decide which one to get. Any advice is appreciated

I think it pertains to auto focus on certain cameras, particularly certain SLR cameras, where a linear polarizer will affect the auto focus function, hence the use of circular polarizer. My understanding is that HVX uses a different auto focus sensor and that you can use either polarizer, however, since they are both listed at the same price, I would personally go for a circular polarizer. Often, the linear pol costs less. Not in this case.
