I want the short movie to have the look from the movie "traffic".
I want to know what are the best effects o the best way to get this accomplished in FCP.
I could appreciatte some help.

What version of Final Cut Pro are you using?

The latest version (6) has Color (software) incorporated into it now. It is a much stronger color correction tool than what is natively offered in version 5. It also has a deeper learning curve (but I believe an Apple Pro Training Series book is on its way for it, and there is a very thick and detailed manual you can read/print). If you don't know Color already, explaining it over this forum might be a bit much.

In you're only expecting to accomplish that look using Final Cut Pro 5 and the 3-Way Color Corrector, not as bad. You simply then just need to use the 3-Way and drive you mid-tones, whites, and blacks into the color area you wish. It will provide a blanket color cast to your scenes then (if that's all you're looking to really do). There may be third party options that might make it easier, but I've never tinkered with such. For your initial setup/test though you could certainly just play wit the 3-Way and see if you can accomplish the look you want.

cheers.

If you have the budget, then you can look at plug-ins like G-Film by Nattress or Magic Bullet by Red Giant Software. If not then play around with the color correction tools and the gamma corrections tools and the brightness/contrast tools in FCP. You can do a lot with Color if you have FCS 2, but it is complicated for beginners...
