4.3 project in v5.0

Is there a way to bring a project in at the tv standard? I am working with something already on dvd and needed to redo some stuff but with the titling and stuff I need to shrienk the clip to fit so it doesn't crop it. Is there a way to just work with 4.3 instead of 720x480 timeline?
 
720x480 is 4.3 !!!

Are you wanting to crop (Pan and Scan) or shrink widescreen to standard 4.3?

If so use the pan/crop button on the clips. Or use the track motion tool on the track. You can even key frame either to follow the action. Keyframes are your friend!

I know about the pan and scan part and 720x480 is 4x3 but the problem is when you bring already cropped video in it sets it as 720x480 and now the graphics are off the safe areas and you have to zoom out the timeline back to the action safe area and it takes along time to re render the project(it is a 1 hour show) i just wanted to see if there was a way to bring it in at the already cropped(what you see on tv)state so i can make the changes and re export. thank you for everyones help this forum rocks!!!!!!
 
I think i figured it out. the text is right I just thought it was off but they created it in the action area on purpose. I thought it needed to be in the text safe area. Thanks
 
The action safe is is still OK. Title safe is a little tighter but use that if you want to be positive that all TVs will be able to see your work.

I usually work with 1 to 2 hour video. Rendering time is just a part of life, unless you get a hardware based editor, then you would be using vegas either. Vegas is probably one of the best bangs for your buck.
